Project 2
Ok I let the primer dry for a couple of hours and the guitar is looking good no obvious scratches! so time to unleash the white paint, this is going to be my base coat! I put on thin layers again to prevent any dripping! I will do put about 2-3 coats on it just takes so long to dry! Anyway after all this has been done I can start marking out the design and that is where it should start looking awesome :D Even thought I am liking the white on its own.
Ok now I need to start looking into the design of this. I thought it would be a lick of paint and ta da! done, but nooooooooo not that simple apparently. Been reading this book called “How to paint your guitar” which I illegally downloaded and uploaded to my Iphone :D
Its a really good read it goes through everything step by step and the designing and painting part of the Project is going to take its time possibly about a Month to do. I never knew you there was so many different types of sandpaper which are defined my “Grit” apparently I am going to need 300, 400, 1200 grit sandpaper to get my nice finish.
I also need a “Sanding Sealer” apparently this seals the wood and the grain so it won’t show through on the end result, once this has been applied I am going to have to sand it down so its nice and smooth; did I ever mention that I despise sanding -_-.
This book also explains that I should keep to the same make so they won’t react or cause any cracks etc. The Sanding Sealer is an odd one so I am just going to pick up any random make, but for the rest of the stuff I am going to use “Plasti-Kote” its a well known make and lots of shops around me supply it.
I already know my base coat is going to brilliant white, so I am going to need the following :-
My next couple of post’s should be me getting started, should be fun! but so much stuff to buy, just hopes it turns out decent, just going to put it in my head TAKE MY TIME!!!!
